Luke 1: 39-40 gives a clue as to the location of house of Zachariah.
39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Judah;
40 And entered into the house of Zachariah, and greeted Elizabeth. (Luke 1: 39-40)
House of Zachariah was located in a town of Judah, in a hilly area, just outside Jerusalem.
The verse implies the city of Hebron, as mentioned in Joshua 21: 11-13.
11 And they gave them the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, with the pasture lands round about it.
12 But the fields of the city, and its villages, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.
13 Thus they gave to the children of Aaron the priest Hebron with its pasture lands, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Libnah with its pasture lands (Joshua 21: 11-13)
Compare Luke 1: 39-40 to Joshua 21: 11-13.
Luke 1:39-40 | Joshua 21:11-13 |

Zechariah was a priest, his home was in a town in the hill country of Judah (Luke 1: 39-40). According to Joshua 21: 11-13, the ancient town of priest in the mountains of Judah is Hebron.
So, the house of Zachariah was in Hebron, an ancient city located in the hill country of Judah.
