Why did Gabriel tell Mary to call her baby Jesus?

Joseph, not Marry.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1: 21)
“You” (thou) in this verse refers to Joseph.
The reason is: because he shall save his people from their sin.
Gabriel told Joseph the reason behind the name.
