וַיָּבֹא יְרוּשָׁלִַם בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַחֲמִישִׁי הִיא שְׁנַת הַשְּׁבִיעִית לַמֶּלֶךְ
כִּי בְּאֶחָד לַחֹדֶשׁ הָרִאשׁוֺן הוּא יְסֻד הַמַּעֲלָה מִבָּבֶל וּבְאֶחָד לַחֹדֶשׁ הַחֲמִישִׁי בָּא אֶל-יְרוּשָׁלִַם כְּיַד-אֱלֹהָיו הַטּוֺבָה עָלָיו
כִּי עֶזְרָא הֵכִין לְבָבוֺ לִדְרוֺשׁ אֶת-תּוֺרַת יְהוָה וְלַעֲשֹׂת וּלְלַמֵּד בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל חֹק וּמִשְׁפָּט: ס
Transliteration
8. Wayyāvō’ yǝrûšālaim baħōdeš haħámîšî hî’ šǝnat haššǝvî`ît lammelek
9. kî bǝ’eħād laħōdeš hāri’šôn hû’ yǝsud hamma`álāh mibāvel ûvǝ’eħād laħōdeš haħámîšî bā’ ‘el-yǝrûšālaim kǝyad-‘élōhāyv haṭṭôvāh `ālāyv.
10. kî `ezrā’ hēkîn lǝvāvô lîdǝrōš ‘et-tôrat yhwh wǝla`áśôt ûlǝlamēd bǝyiśrā’ēl ħōq ûmišǝpāṭ.
Translation

8. And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.
9. For upon the first day of the first month he began to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.
10. For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD and to do it and to teach in Israel his statutes and judgments.
