Where did Mary, Joseph, and Jesus go after the birth of Jesus?
They went and moved from a stable cave where Jesus was born to a house within Bethlehem city. The wise men came into a house, when they visited Jesus. It implies, they moved not long after his birth.
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. (Matthew 2: 11)
When did they move to a house?
Jesus was circumcised in January 1, 4 BCE. In ancient Hebrew context, it served religious and social purposes. Neighbors, relatives, and friends came to celebrate the moment and mealed together. This tradition led to thought that circumcision was held in a house and needed preparation a day before. Hence, they moved from the cave to a house in a day between 26 and 30 of December, 5 BCE Julian Calendar.
